The IASC Cryosphere Working Group is organizing the "Field Workshop on Tidewater Glaciers" in Svalbard aboard of the Polish r/v Horyzont II, 26-31 August 2012. PhD Students and early Postdocs can apply for participation with significantly reduced costs. Please find enclosed first circular with details.

The steering group will be grateful for dissemination of this announcement among potentially interested colleagues.

IDS Invitation -International Diatom Symposium 2012

Dear APECS members,

 

You may or may not be aware that this year the 22^nd International Diatom Symposium is hosted atGhent University, Belgium, from August 26^th-31^st 2012 (www.vliz.be/events/ids2012).

 

We aspire to making this meeting a truly interdisciplinary meeting covering a wide range of current topics in diatom research, ranging from phylogeny and DNA barcoding to ecophysiology and molecular biology.

 

We are proud to present an exciting line-up of invited speakers: Martyn Kelly (UK), Peter Kroth (Ger),Isabelle Lavoie (Can), Marina Montresor (It), Jeroen Raes (Bel), Rosa Trobajo (Sp), Graham Underwood(UK) and Elie Verleyen (Bel)( http://www.vliz.be/events/ids2012/index.php?p=speakers).
